The past 24 hours have been kind of insane. We were on our last day of a lovely, relaxing week-long “babymoon” vacation over in Southwestern Michigan when I got my foot caught on a traffic barricade, slicing it open in the process. One sudden ER visit and nine stitches later, I was discharged, but putting any amount of weight on my right foot right now is all sorts of unpleasant. (Expect to see me hobbling around for the next week or so until this super-inconvenient wound heals up.)
All the love in the world goes out to my increasingly pregnant wife, who essentially had to do everything for both of us for the past day, from cooking meals to packing up our car to driving in the rain five-plus hours back home. She took a well-deserved nap this afternoon and missed my show in the process. (I won’t hold it against her.)
